Aloha Got Soul is my all-time favorite blog for Hawaiian music, especially Hawaiian Funk. In August 2010, they posted this amazing mixtape by DJ Muro, which features the smooth jams of Haleakala, the Ali'is and a close family friend of mine, Henry Kapono (of Cecilio & Kapono or C&K). Thanks to Roger Bong for the tight mix at Aloha Got Soul.
Mahalo Noso! So cool that Henry Kapono is a close family friend, the music community in Hawaii is unlike anything else in the world. Glad you like DJ Muro's mix, it was the inspiration that pushed me to starting Aloha Got Soul.

I left the islands for school four years ago and really lost touch with the music back home. Mahalo for keeping the music alive and for checking out my less-serious and -focused blog. Aloha.
